How many days enough for Maldives resort?

The Maldives works well for a week-long holiday although 10 days to 2 weeks is ideal. It also works brilliantly as a 3–5-day bolt-on to a longer holiday in Sri Lanka which is only 1 hour away by plane. If you're visiting after Sri Lanka or staying for a week, we would recommend sticking to one resort.

Is Maldives worth the hype?

Visiting Maldives is definitely worth it! The country is known for its stunning beauty, with crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches. It's easy to travel among the islands when you stay in Maldives as there are plenty of ferries and boats that can take you from one island to another.

Are Maldives resorts worth it?

We think it's worth the cost to visit the Maldives, and are happy to do so for one week. To reduce the drain on the budget, I'd consider your accommodation type – we prefer a villa on the beach to a water villa, though I do recognise the 'quintessentially Maldives' draw of the water villa.

Should you stay at an all-inclusive in the Maldives?

If you're not going to drink many alcoholic drinks during the course of your stay, or not enjoy three full meals a day, then it's probably not the right package for you. However, food and drinks in the Maldives are expensive as everything needs to be imported.
