Take Highway 58 to Highway 97. If the North Entrance is open, turn west on Highway 138 to the park's North Entrance. When the North Entrance is closed for the winter season (see above), continue south on Highway 97 toward the town of Chiloquin. Take Highway 62 to the park's South Entrance.
How long does it take to drive Crater Lake?
Allow a minimum of two hours (including sight-seeing stops) to circumnavigate the lake by car or motorcycle, and longer if you are driving a larger vehicle or towing.
Do you have to hike to Crater Lake?
Crater Lake offers visitors a wide array of hikes in terms of difficulty and views. Located on the northern edge of Crater Lake off the East Rim Road, 2.2-mile (round trip) Cleetwood Cove Trail is the only way in the park to access the water.
