Do any cruise lines permit pets?
Most cruise lines do not allow pets on cruises, with the exception of Cunard's Queen Mary 2. Cunard cruisers can take their pet dog or cat on transatlantic sailings from New York to Southampton or Hamburg, provided they're able to book a spot in The Kennels, the special pet area on the ship.

If your dog is eager to dive in but they've not had any experience swimming, they'll need to get the hang of how to swim before taking a plunge in the ocean. With waves and currents, the sea isn't the best place for them to take their first dip and they'll need to learn to swim in shallow, calm water.

Can you sail across the ocean with a dog?
Taking your pets along while sailing to foreign countries is not only doable, but enjoyable. We've had dogs, cats, parrots, and hamsters (no frogs!) on board rally boats. But you must do your homework and start well in advance of your passage to have the proper paperwork to clear your pet into a country.
Can I travel to the Bahamas with my dog?
Entering the BahamasYour pet will need to visit a licensed veterinarian in the Bahamas for an examination within 48 hours of arrival. All dogs and cats must be free of evidence of disease communicable to humans when examined at the entry airport.
