You are walking for an extended period of time, in usually hot and humid conditions. Sunscreen is very important and don't forget to re-apply.
Can you bring a backpack to Chichen Itza?
You can prepare for Chichen Itza by packing a backpack with lots of water, sunscreen, bug spray, and sunglasses or a hat as the site is full sun. Wear comfortable clothing and good walking shoes like gym shoes. Also, make sure your rental car has a full tank of gas before leaving Tulum or Cancun.
Does Chichen Itza have a dress code?
Chichen Itza has no official dress code, but don't wear anything with offensive language or that is too revealing. Keep in mind that this is one of the most important archeological sites from Mayan culture, so you should act and dress respectfully during your visit.
