Dogs and cats traveling with us will experience a similarly pressurized and climate-controlled aircraft compartment that our customers are used to in cabin. While your pet waits for their flight, they will be in a climate-controlled area until they are given a ride to their flight for departure.
Is a dog in the cargo hold safe?
Conditions in the cargo hold of commercial jets are not always friendly; temperatures can fluctuate wildly, noise can be tremendous and air pressure can drop significantly, and pets that are checked into this dark space beneath the passenger cabin sometimes die.
What is the meaning of pet air cargo?
If an aircraft takes pets, they have a special area for pets that is temperature controlled within 10 degrees of the cabin, pressurized, and oxygenated for each pet. Your pet can travel as 'cargo' on the same flight as you, or unaccompanied. This means the pet is not on the same flight as you.
