Not being show on Flightaware just means they are on one of the block lists maintained by FAA and EASA. There are military encrypted transponders, that's something you can't receive locally. I've noticed i see tons of military aircraft on ADS-B Exchange but on Flight Aware they don't show up.
Why do planes disappear from radar?
However, radar systems are designed to track flights at cruising altitude. They don't monitor the skies below safe cruising altitude because terrain and buildings start to get in the way of the radar signal. Therefore, if a plane drops below that minimum altitude, it's no longer high enough for radar to see it.
Why don t all helicopters show on FlightRadar?
FlightRadar and similar websites use several sources for aircraft detection, most commonly they use ADS-B. Not all General Aviation aircraft, to which helicopters would count normally, are equipped with transponders that are capable of emitting ADS-B data.
Are planes always on radar?
Air traffic controllers typically track airplanes using radar technology, which is only effective for up to 200 miles offshore. After flying farther than 200 miles over the ocean, commercial airplanes are typically out of radar range.
Why are some aircraft not on flight radar?
Why are some flights not tracked on Flightradar24?
While it may sound shocking to some, the simple fact is that some aircraft may simply not have their transponder on, or it may be temporarily off, or they may be carrying passengers or cargo, which warrant deactivation. In addition, not all airspace activity is always relayed to FlightRadar24 at all times.

Why is it so hard to find MH370?

What is the most probable cause of MH370?
Fire. A number of theories suggest that the disappearance may have been the result of a fire in the cockpit, cargo compartment, landing gear, or another part of the plane.
Why is the F-22 so stealthy?
Furthermore, the F-22 was insanely stealthy, thanks in part to it housing its diverse arsenal of weapons in three internal bays. Since externally mounted weapons contribute to radar reflection, internal bays mean the F-22 sacrifices none of its stealth to carry a heavy payload.
