From Stratford Upon Avon to the confluence with the Severn at Tewksbury, the River Avon is a navigation. It is managed by the Avon Navigation Trust (ANT). A license is required on this section, either through British Canoeing membership or directly from ANT.

The Bath Boating Station offers Rowing, Canoeing and Punting, available for hire for 1 or 2 hours along a most beautiful stretch of the River Avon. The grounds of the Boating Station offer pretty lawns next to the river where you can picnic after your boating trip.
