Can I use my train ticket on a different route?
Your ticket may show a route or train company that you must use for your journey. If not, you are allowed to use any permitted route for the journey you are making. Permitted routes cover all reasonable routes available for making your journey, including direct services and suitable connecting services.
Can you get an earlier train than booked?
Can I get an earlier train with an Advance ticket? Advance train tickets aren't flexible, so you must catch the train specified on your ticket. If you catch an earlier train, you may have to pay additional fees, so please check with ticket staff at the station.
What to do if train is partially cancelled?
In case of partial train cancellation, train diverted, train short terminated etc., TDR is required to be filed online up to Seventy Two Hours of the Scheduled Departure of the Train at Passenger's Boarding Station.

Anytime Day Return: Your outward and return travel can be on any train on the date specified. Off-Peak Return: Both journeys must be on an Off-Peak train, the outward journey on the date specified. Your return travel must be within one calendar month of the outward travel date specified.
What is the difference between partially cancelled and fully cancelled train?
Partially cancelled train means that either train in not going to start from its 1st station or it will not reach its last station. Simple meaning is it is not going to complete its full journey.
Will I get full refund if my train is partially Cancelled?
All refunds on partially waitlisted tickets will be entertained only if 'non-travel' certificate from the TTE of the train to the effect that the partially wait-listed passengers have not travelled is obtained and submitted along with refund application.
Do I get a refund if my train is Cancelled due to strike?
